Job Description

Title:             Farmers Market Manager
Reports To:    President
Effective:       April 2010

Position Description

The primary responsibilities of the Farmers Market Manager include:

• Day to day operation the Historic City [Farmers] Market;
• Recruitment and assessment of potential new vendors; and
• Development of strategic and marketing plans for the Historic City market.

The Farmers Market Manager will report to the President and work closely with all DRI staff to make the Downtown experience exceptional.  It is the responsibility of the Market Manager to keep the President/CEO sufficiently briefed of all developments on the Historic City Market.

The mission of the Farmers Market is to provide Roanoke and the surrounding area with locally grown foods in a direct farm-to-consumer venue and to increase awareness and support of regional agriculture.

Salary:  $30,000
