The non-profit organization that forever changed the landscape of downtown Roanoke as we know it is having a birthday!

Center in the Square, who thousands of patrons know as the home of the Kids Square, Roanoke Pinball Museum, Roanoke STARCADE Arcade Museum and so much more officially opened 40 years ago with over 45,000 visitors in their first weekend of operation.

The organization looks to recreate that massive opening with a celebration on Saturday, December 9th featuring free performances and activities at their first floor atrium, followed by having ALL their museums open for FREE from 1-6pm on Sunday, December 10th for a full weekend of entertainment, education and fun.

Center in the Square will also be kicking off their $400,000 for 40 Years Fundraising Campaign with donations being accepted at this coming weekend’s celebrations.

Center in the Square is honored to have been a part of the evolution on the downtown area for (as of this upcoming weekend) four decades! Our community has been tremendously supportive of Center in the Square, from its mission regarding the gifting of spaces to other nonprofit organizations, to the creation of Kids Square, the Roanoke Pinball Museum, the Roanoke STARCADE, and more, and looks forward to celebrating in a big way this weekend!
