The Historical Society of Western Virginia's annual fundraiser, "History is Served," will be held on the evening of Thursday, October 12 at Hotel Roanoke. The evening begins with a silent auction that includes individual items as well as packages of multiple items. A live auction and dinner will follow the silent auction.
The night is capped off by speaker Rebecca Boggs Roberts, author of Untold Power, a book about Edith Bolling Wilson, a first lady born in Wytheville. Roberts is currently deputy director of events at the Library of Congress and on the Editorial Advisory Committee of the White House Historical Association.
Individual tickets are $100 and a table for 10 costs $1,250. Table purchases include valet parking, drink tickets and museum memberships.
