Dr. Robyn Hakanson is an orthopedic surgeon at LewisGale Physicians in Salem, VA. She is also the President and Founding Surgeon of Women Orthopaedist Global Outreach (WOGO), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free joint replacement surgery in the developing world.
By eliminating debilitating arthritis and restoring disabled joints,WOGO allows women to reclaim their ability to care for themselves, their families, and their communities.Through educational initiatives and scholarship programs for young healthcare providers, WOGO also leaves the communities they visit healthier, more knowledgeable, and inspired to reach beyond prior limitations.
Join Dr. Hakanson as she shares her personal journey during The Shenandoah Club's inaugural Ladies Who Launch Speaker Series. Hear her first-hand account of why she started the organization, the impact WOGO is having on the world, and why she is so passionate about what she does.
