Laugh with us on April 1 as we highlight the art of stand-up comedy.

We are pleased to announce a stand-up comedy event as part of our Late Nights at the Taubman series. On Friday, April 1, we’ll be celebrating April Fool’s Day the best way we know how: through the power of laughter and live comedy.

A joint production of the Taubman Museum, The 110 Society, and Alternative Arts Inc, this is an evening of entertainment you won’t want to miss!

Internationally-touring comic Cliff Cash is headlining Roanoke for one night only, and exclusively at the Taubman Museum.

Cliff’s performance will follow an introduction and feature set by local favorite and long-time professional comic, Rob Ruthenberg.

While the Museum and galleries will be free and open to the public all evening long, the comedy show is a ticketed event in the Museum’s theater space.

Schedule of Events
5-9 pm: Galleries Open, Drinks available
6-8 pm: Live Music
7-8:30 pm: COMMEDIA Comedy show featuring Rob Ruthenberg and Cliff Cash, cover fees apply.

Comedy Show tickets are now available! Advance tickets are $15 and include a drink ticket for patrons 21 and older. Not imbibing? We also have “designated driver” pre-sale tickets available for $10.

Day of tickets are $20 (with a drink ticket) for patrons 21+ and $15 without a drink ticket.

About Cliff:

Cliff Cash got his comedy start in Wilmington NC at Nutt St Comedy, now Dead Crow Comedy Room. In the 10 years since he began, Cash has gone on to win Port City’s Top Comic, Comedy Zones Almost Famous, be a finalist in Comedy Central’s UpNext and a finalist for Standup NBC. He’s played iconic comedy rooms from The Comedy Store in LA to Caroline’s on Broadway in New York City. Cliff has headlined great festivals like Altercation Comedy Festival in Austin, Tree Fort Festival in Boise and West End Comedy Festival in Atlanta.

He also won best of the fest at SLO Comedy Festival in California. His comedy has been featured on Sirius XM Comedy Central, Rawdog, Laughs TV, Rooftop Comedy and a half hour special on Dry Bar. In 2021 his debut album (released through StandUp! Records ) spent a week at number one on iTunes.
In between touring, Cash is on a mission to see all the national parks in the United States. So far he's seen 45 out of 63 while traveling in a sprinter van he converted to live in. Being a full time nomad makes being a full time comedian a little more "do-able". SNL’s Kevin Nealon called him “a mix between Rory Scovel and Bill Hicks” then promised to help him get on Conan and never talked to him again.

Cash’s comedy has been called “the comedic voice of the new south” as he challenges old paradigms and stereotypes from his deeply religious and conservative roots. Cliff tackles everything from racism to homophobia, from greed and war to death and divorce saying “I believe it is our duty as comics to shine the light of levity into the dark corners of the human experience and by doing so, we can take power away from the things that sadden us or scare us. Maybe that old saying about laughter being the best medicine really is true. I hope so because I don’t have health insurance”.
