Whether you're headed out for a night of dancing or want to learn a new skill with formal instruction, residents and visitors alike find themselves swept up in all the dancing Downtown Roanoke has to offer!
Recurring favorites
Salsa Night at Corned Beef
Whether you are a seasoned pro or looking to try your hand for the first time, Salsa Night at Corned Beef and Co. happens at least once a month. A collaboration between the restaurant and Salsa Noke, for a small cover you can learn some new moves solo or with a partner and dance all night.
Sidewinders Country Club
The feeling of a Nashville Broadway honky tonk right downtown can be found at Sidewinders Steakhouse and Saloon. This spot is always filled with country music and good eats. Whether you are visiting for the food, weekly county club night, multiple weekly line dance nights, or live music on the stage kicking your boots off is an easy way to kick back and learn some new moves any night of the week.
Fiesta Fridays
They say it takes two to tango and that is the case if you visit Fiesta Fridays at Corned Beef and Co. These monthly dance nights start off with a half-hour dance class. Then the floor opens up! Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Cumbia, Merengue, or Reggaeton, the fast-paced night is always a fan favorite.
Bachata Brunch
Located in the City Market Building, enjoy your brunch with a side of Bachata! Recurring monthly by Big Lick Latin Underground, you can finish your weekend on the right foot.
Classes
Kirk Family YMCA
Perhaps a longer more structured dance schedule is preferred by you and your family. Over at Kirk Family YMCA an array of dance classes for students is offered throughout the school year. Lyrical, hip hop, clogging or combo, kids will shine as they learn to perform.
Jefferson Center
The premier theatre in the heart of the city, The Jefferson Center focuses mainly on music education. However, master classes specializing in music and dance are offered on an individual basis throughout the year.
Nightlife
Maybe you just want to go out with your crew and bust a move. The nightlife scene downtown is also one that offers many options. Martin's, Starr Hill, Big Lick, Jack Brown's, Awful Arthur's, and Olde Salem Brewing Company are all known to have an ongoing rotation of local bands for you to sing and dance to.
For more of a concert vibe, The Spot on Kirk, 5 Points Music Sanctuary, and Dr Pepper Park at the Bridges all offer Both seasoned favorites and up-and-coming artists!
