To make your planning easier, we've put together a list of activities so you can fully enjoy the spooky festivities. There's even a special section for the little ghouls and goblins. Friday, October 25, 2024

• K92 Boo Bash at Awful Arthur's - 8:00 p.m. - midnight - The annual Boo Bash returns with a costume contest ($1,200 cash up for grabs!), drink specials, dancing, and more.

• Unholy Matrimony Presents: BOO'S-FREE Halloween at The Spot on Kirk - 7:30 p.m. -Come see three out of town bands get spooky with prizes for best costumes! The event is alcohol free. 

• Dan and DKs Halloween Hootenanny at Starr Hill - 6:30 p.m. - Strut your spooky stuff for prizes for creepiest, kookiest and most ridiculous costumes, live music and more!

• Nightmare on Market Street at Jack Brown's - All Day - Come Hang out at your favorite joint & grab a craft brew or one of the spooky cocktail specials. Double Notch drafts for ALL Notchers.

• Halloween Party at Sidewinders - 6:00 p.m. - Chance Carter will be on the first floor and The Dundees are performing upstairs.  Cash prizes for Best Costumes. Limited Tickets available.

• Big Lick Forever Halloween Bash at Big Lick Brewing Company - 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. - Get ready for a night filled with whimsy and darkness, inspired by the characters Batman Forever. Plus a costume contest, new beers, and live music featuring Chad Nickells & the Loose Change.

• Dead Reckoning Halloween at 5 Points Music Sanctuary- 6:30 p.m. - The Dead Reckoning perform at 5 Points for their Halloween festivities. Prizes will be awarded in the “Frankenstein” themed costume contest.

• Spooky Jam at Caribbica Soul - 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. - A night of live music from DJ Squeeze and Killer costumes! 

• Fork-O-Ween at Fork in the Market - 6:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. - Fork in the Market's annual Halloween Block Party returns. This street party features live music, a costume content, and Silent Disco.

• Halloween Street Party at Martin’s - 6:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. - This Halloween Street Party featuring 3 bands on two stages – Sneezy, Disco Risque, and The Snozzberries. Admission is $20.

• Metalcore Massacre at The Spot on Kirk - 7:30 p.m. - Come see some of Virginia’s best Metalcore and celebrate Halloween! Dying Oath, Seasons, Freedom From The Shadows, and To Be a King are all slated to perform.

• Halloween Party at Corned Beef and Co. - 9:00 p.m. - The end of Rocktoberfest with DJs, a costume contest, cash prizes, and spooky drinks.

• Spooktacular Drag Brunch at Well Hung - 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. - Hosted by Big Daddy, Former Mr Gay Roanoke and performances by, Dezi Bennett, Bianca Blake Starr, Enya Salad, Charlene S DeFranco, Trista Storm. $13 admission, food and drink separate. Seatings at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Showtimes at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

• Trunk or Treat at Kirk Family YMCA – 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. - Bring the kids to Kirk Family YMCA for some fun trick or treating. This event is open to everyone, not just members. Costumes encouraged.

• Macaroni Kid’s Candy Crawl in Downtown Roanoke - 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. - Put on your costumes and head downtown for the 5th Annual Downtown Candy Crawl. Participating downtown businesses will be handing out candy. Make sure to register in advance so you’ll receive the map with participating treat locations.

• Monster Motor Mash at the Virginia Museum of Transportation - 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - You can explore fall themed craft stations, games, slime lab demo, scavenger hunt, craft vendors, vendor pop-ups, magic shows, and kids costume contest! 

• Dracula at the Jefferson Center - 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - Roanoke Ballet Theatre's October favorite is hitting the stage for another year! Indulge in the arts with the classic ballet based on the story of Dracula by Bram Stoker.

Through October 31, 2024

• Trick or Treat with Parakeets at the Science Museum - Wear your favorite costume and exchange treats with these colorful birds!
