Sweet Treats
Category: What’s New
Do you have a sweet tooth? If so, this feature post was made for you! We'll walk you through all of your downtown dessert options so you can satisfy your sugar craving. Our little corner of the world has everything from ice cream to cookies.
Bread Craft
An artisanal bakery offering more than bread and coffee is nestled on Church Avenue. Beyond the yellow storefront and bright blue doors, you'll find scrumptious cookies, scones, croissants, danishes, and other various pastries.
For an extra dose of sweetness, order a cinnamon bun or savory pecan sticky bun!
The Candy Store
Right in the heart of downtown, The Candy Store is a vibrant retail shop featuring regionally produced artisan chocolates, as well as specialty and vintage candies from around the world. Conveniently located in Market Square, this is the ideal stop for chocolate lovers and sour gummy worm enthusiasts alike.
Cello Coffee House & Cafe
You might not know it from the name, but this cafe offers delicious desserts, including 10 flavors of ice cream and milkshakes! You can also grab a piece of baklava or namoura to go along with your coffee.
chocolatepaper
Gourmet truffles...yes, please! Not only does chocolatepaper offer any truffle you can image, you'll find seasonal treats, chocolate covered pretzels, fudge, and chocolate stars. The shop recently obtained its ABC license to sell bottles of wine, so you can have your own pairings!
Crumbles
Start your morning at Crumbles with one of their famous cinnamon rolls made with real honey and topped with vanilla cream cheese icing.
Pair the sticky pastry with a mocha frappe, coffee, or hot chocolate.
Our Daily Bread
Our Daily Bread Bakery & Bistro, established in 1980, has steadily grown from a small bakery into a bustling patisserie, bistro, and caterer. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a variety of mouth-watering pastries, cakes, pies and breads. Pick up a macaroon or pie from the new Downtown Roanoke location.
Rookie's
Located in the bottom of the Patrick Henry building on Jefferson Street, Rookie's offers classic ice cream cookie sandwiches— all deliciously homemade.
If the sandwich isn't your thing, cookies and ice cream can be purchased separately. With half a dozen flavors of each, the combinations are endless. Cookie skillets and ice cream flights are available, too. And what's a cookie without a little milk?
Sweets by Shaneice
Shaneice specializes in colorful custom cakes, but she is an expert in baking cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, cheesecake cones, and even seasonal pies.
Whether you need a custom creation for your next big celebration or just want to grab a cupcake on your way to a meeting, Sweets by Shaneice has it all.
Waffle Cone
Newly opened Waffle Cone is your one stop shop for ice cream, cheesecake, baklava, cookies, brownies, macarons, and sweet coffee drinks like mochas, lattes, and cappuccinos. You can even combine ice cream and coffee by ordering an affogato. Yum!
With 12 flavors of ice cream and 12 types of cheesecake, you're sure to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth.
In addition to all of these wonderful spots, many downtown restaurants offer desserts.
